Saturday, July 8th: Picnic lunch ‘n learn at Parc Lafontaine
As part of the global peace wave on July 8th, Montreal for a World BEYOND War will be welcoming Sakura Saunders of the Beehive collective. We will meet in Parc Lafontaine for a picnic lunch, after which Sakura will present.
Sakura will be using one of the Beehive Collective’s trademark huge banners to tell the story of colonialism, of wars sparked by economic interests, and of women leading grassroots resistance. Her talk will be live streamed as part of a 24-hour-long series of actions globally, comprising the Peace Wave.
When: July 8, 2023 at 12:30 pm.
Where: Parc Lafontaine, (metro Sherbrooke, exit Berri and go North to Cherrier, then East to the park; about 10 min. walk) We will meet at the pond where the banner is to be displayed; this is the first thing you see when you walk towards the park from rue Cherrier. Note: In case of rain, we will still go ahead with the presentation in the Chalet (3933 Avenue du Parc-La Fontaine).
What to bring: Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to sit on.
Itinerary: Picnic from 12:30 to 1:30, and then Sakura’s presentation from 1:30-2:00 pm EDT.
