The Canada-Wide Peace & Justice Network (CWPJN) condemns the recent U.S. military attacks against Venezuela, and joins the international call for emergency actions against war on Venezuela.
In response to the U.S. military’s direct attacks on Venezuela and the U.S. capture of Venezuela’s President Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, CWPJN calls for cross-Canada emergency actions on or around MONDAY JANUARY 5 outside the U.S. embassy, consulates and other public spaces.
As stated in CWPJN’s November 2, 2025 statement, “U.S. threats of regime-change against President Maduro are most importantly an attempt to destroy Venezuela’s independence from U.S. foreign policy as it attempts to regain its waning hegemony over Latin America and the Caribbean. The government of President Maduro today, and President Chavez previously, has fiercely defended Venezuela’s sovereignty in the face of U.S.-led imperialist attacks, and stood up against Zionism, imperialism, and colonialism.” Read CWPJN’s statement at tinyurl.com/Hands-Off-Venezuela
The CWPJN calls on the Carney government to distance itself from the recent U.S. aggression on Venezuela, to condemn the illegal U.S. attacks on Venezuela and to end Canada’s regime of illegal, inhumane sanctions against Venezuela.
